3 Types of Hangar Doors
Hangar doors serve a variety of purposes. They keep the elements out, keep climatized air in, and control the entry of vermin and birds. Hangar doors can be hydraulic swinging, bi-fold or bottom rolling.
Hydraulic swinging hangar doors
Hydraulic swinging hangar doors swing outward when opening, requiring extra space for door clearance. These hangar doors are best suited for lightweight doors, as it takes a lot of hydraulic pressure to raise the door. Hydraulic swinging hangar doors should typically not be in areas exposed to high winds.
Bi-fold hangar doors
Bi-fold hangar doors are convenient, motorized doors that save space and require less swing area. These hangar doors are much less maintenance than a hydraulic system and are more budget friendly than their counterpart.
Bottom Rolling hangar doors
Bottom Rolling hangar doors are extremely heavy duty and also low maintenance. Best suited for taller hangar doors, these hangar doors can bare the weight of a door that a lifted door could not.
