ADA Compliant Doors

Are you in need of converting your doors to be ADA compliant? Do you know if your doors are compliant? At General Door we know just how to get your business ADA compliant. We can alter any door or opening to meet ADA standards.

What does ADA compliant mean?

The Americans with Disabilities Act or ADA was enacted to make sure that individuals with handicaps are capable of entering facilities and maneuvering inside these facilities.

Clearance for Opening

ADA standards require the clear width of a door opening must be a minimum of 32 inches and a maximum of 48 inches. This clear width measurement is taken between the face of the door and the stop of the frame with the door open to 90 degrees

Minor Modifications

Minor modifications can be made to bring your doors to ADA compliance. Installing a door press is one way to make an entrance ADA compliant. Existing doors can be used in connection with an automated opening system, keeping costs to a minimum.
